The Symptoms That Get Dismissed for Months
None of these are dramatic. None are obviously alarming in isolation. This is what makes ovarian cancer so dangerous.
- Persistent bloating: Not the kind that comes and goes. Bloating that is constant or keeps returning over several weeks — this is different.
- Feeling full very quickly: Eating only a small amount and feeling uncomfortably full, or losing appetite early in meals.
- Lower abdominal or pelvic pain: A persistent ache or pressure not clearly linked to the menstrual cycle.
- Urgent or frequent urination: Sudden increase with no UTI diagnosis.
- Unexplained fatigue: Persistent, heavy fatigue that sleep does not resolve.
- Abdominal swelling: Visible distension due to fluid accumulation (ascites) — typically a later sign.
